Flipping the page towards a new chapter of our lives can be a daring and mentally challenging choice. However, as adolescents who are yet to step onto the doorstep of the real world, going through every phase that life has to offer, embracing changes, and welcoming challenges can transform us into people fully equipped to face the realities as we leave the campus. In line with this subject, entering college may be a scary thought, as it brings with it the uncertainty of new environments, academic challenges, and the pressures of independence nonetheless, this fear is often the first step toward growth. In consideration of these, AISAT annually holds a “New Student Orientation Program” to welcome and guide incoming freshmen as they begin their journey in the world of Aviation and Animation. This comprehensive program can help students acclimate to the campus, understand academic expectations, and connect with both peers and faculty.
Through this program, incoming learners at AISAT gain a deeper understanding of their chosen school and what sets it apart from others. Upon entering the event, students are provided with kits containing a student pamphlet outlining the information to be discussed during orientation, along with a pen and name tag. A “New Student Checklist” is included at the back of the pamphlet, offering students guidance on the essential items they need as freshmen. Key topics covered in the program include tuition fees and payment methods, admission requirements, a tour of the campus website, student policies and regulations, and other important matters every AISAT student should know.
The orientation also highlights AISAT’s commitment to student welfare, with discussions on the available guidance and counseling services to support students not only physically but also mentally and emotionally. Furthermore, a campus tour, combined with a meet-and-greet session, was conducted to help students familiarize themselves with both their peers and the campus layout. Each group was led by a pair of SSC and AISAT Marshals officers. During the meet-and-greet, students were tasked with preparing a section yell that represented their group’s personality, which enlivened the atmosphere and showcased their wit, intelligence, and teamwork. To encourage further interaction, a “Human Bingo” game was organized, allowing students to connect with others beyond their immediate classmates.
The New Student Orientation Program at AISAT serves as a vital stepping stone for freshmen as they begin their educational journey in aviation and animation. By addressing both the practical and emotional aspects of college life, the program not only helps students navigate the academic environment but also fosters a sense of community and belonging. The activities, discussions, and interactions are designed to ease the transition, ensuring that students feel supported and prepared to face the challenges ahead. As they embark on this new chapter, students are equipped with the tools and connections they need to succeed, empowered to embrace the opportunities and responsibilities that come with college life. Through this orientation, AISAT reaffirms its dedication to nurturing not just skilled professionals, but well-rounded individuals ready to take on the world.
