Amidst the joy and essence of December, the faculty and staff of the Asian International School of Aeronautics and Technology (AISAT) transmuted their looks into various Disney characters, turning a magical Disney-themed Christmas party into reality. With the theme “AISAT Goes Disney, Christmas Blast 2023: Feeling Young at Heart”, everyone showcased their creativity as they portrayed different characters. The event was a celebration of not just the holiday season but also the spirit of togetherness of AISAT faculty and staff.
Embracing a Disney-themed Christmas party allowed everyone to reconnect with their younger selves evoking a sense of nostalgia and joy, a proof that nobody is too old for Disney. Thus, Ma’am Viktorria Villamor, AISAT Marketing & Admission Officer, and the event organizer mentioned
“The Disney theme was inspired by the idea that even as adults, we may still be young at heart. As the assigned event organizer, I thought of going above and beyond by requiring all faculty and staff to portray their favorite Disney character.”
Indeed, all of the faculty and staff exhibited a keen willingness to participate in the theme of the event.
On the evening of December 16th, the event commenced with a praise and worship session, followed by a pastor’s message. Everyone even had the opportunity to reflect and reminisce on the highlights of their year within the AISAT community, as the program featured a flashback segment of the different activities and events through the months of 2023. The segment showcased the bond they created and the challenges they collectively navigated through the semester. The efforts, excellence, and hard work of different individuals were also acknowledged during the long service award and faculty evaluation portion, deeply touching the hearts of each awardee and serving as a poignant reminder for them of the impact they have had on the community.
As the event progressed, an array of games that are connected to the Disney theme and raffle prizes were offered, eliciting laughter and joy that echoed throughout the venue. Even Ma’am Kim Deaño expressed how she enjoyed every bit of the event.
“The most memorable part was the games where we were grouped by department to guess Disney characters with one person asking hints. But the special memory was when we were just talking with colleagues/friends. We were laughing because of jokes and some stuff that were funny for us. It was a good laugh, and just simply thankful for the year overall,”
she mentioned. It is clearly evident that all of the participants are enjoying themselves while wearing their respective Disney costumes.
According to Ma’am Viktorria, as the event organizer, it was immensely fulfilling for her to witness all employees, including the school president, dressed in Disney-inspired attire. Each attendee took great care to express the effort they put into their costumes for the event. Even Ma’am Camelle Yu expressed that her favorite part of the event was witnessing herself and her colleagues donning Disney costumes.
Indeed, the Disney-themed Christmas party of the AISAT faculty and staff was a joyful gathering paving a way for them to be closer together as they will face a new semester ahead. Through their respective Disney costumes and shared experiences, they relived the magic of being young at heart and celebrated their unity. Gratitude, appreciation, laughter, and a sense of belonging filled the air, leaving everyone with cherished memories of the evening. Thus, this event embarks a lasting bond among the AISAT community.
