A lot has already happened since the pandemic started and things may or may not have gotten a lot better in our society, but the real question is, what about you? How are you? How have you been since then? Have you adjusted to the new normal? How are your studies? Your career? What’s new in your life? Have you gone through a lot of things lately? So many questions to ask someone, but so few who ask. So many uncertainties since then, and until now there still are. So many things are still unclear of what this New Year holds, but one thing is for sure, it is the beginning of something new, fresh, and hopefully worthwhile. The beginning that we’ve always wanted. We’ve been through a lot these past few months and even years. Overcame struggles and won battles that we don’t speak of, but as time goes by, a lot of these challenges have shown up more and more each day. Struggles that only we can handle. We are living in a world where surviving is more efficient than living. You see, when we say surviving, it means we go through our cycles each day, nothing new, just keeping up with our lives and expenses. A few leisure to relax. But when we say living, it means being able to live the life we want and deserve without having the fear of discovering new things to do and new barriers to go through. Living means acceptance and changing perspectives. Seeing and understanding reality while balancing out responsibilities. We always ask what it means to live, but the answer lies within us. Lies within how we want to live.

This year has just started and a lot of things may have happened in our lives already that we may or may not have noticed. Things that someday may arise and challenge our guts and courage. New Year means new opportunities and struggles. New discoveries and new downfalls, but whatever may happen, always remember that you are strong. You’ve been through a lot, and you’ve already made it this far. It took a lot of strength and courage to be here, but it was worth it, right? If you still think otherwise, then it’s up to you, but just remember that you are here for a reason. Not to suffer, but to become the change that this world needs. Even those who could barely survive still hope for a brighter tomorrow. Waiting for the new beginning that they’ve always prayed for. We all have struggles that we just want to end, but no matter how fast time flies, it takes a lot of time to get through it. We may even end up giving up, but if we just realize the fact that we were put there for a reason, we would be able to change something in ourselves or for others. We are the key to our new beginnings and we may become the support for others’ new beginnings. This year has just started, yet it already feels like time is in a hurry. Just a few more months then another year begins, but how do we make this new beginning worthwhile?

There are so many things we know deep inside that we want to do and want to experience. To live, to enjoy, to discover, to forgive, to love, and be loved. The beginning to correct mistakes and instill in our minds the lessons we’ve learned these past few years of our lives. The beginning of letting go of old destructive and toxic behaviors, slowly and surely creating a better version of yourself and your life. It’s the year of letting go of those things that don’t serve you well anymore. This isn’t another year of holding on to something that you don’t deserve. Don’t let old cycles affect your new beginnings, instead, turn it as a motivation to be better. Don’t let negativity ruin the rest of this year and the years to come. You deserve this new start. You deserve a fresh beginning with no buts and no whys, just simply “I can” and “I will”. Start your new life with positivity and new perspectives and outlooks in life. Nothing is more rewarding than being able to realize that you deserve so much more than you’ve been settling for, and this is the year for this. Start now, pave the way to the life you want, and the peace and happiness that you deserve. You got this! This is the beginning of a new chapter of your life, and it’s up to you to make it worthwhile. No turning back, just straight ahead and you’ll see that there’s more to your life than you’ve perceived it. You just have to take a leap of faith and take a step.

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
