The second semester of School Year 2024-2025 has begun, and with it comes a new cast of faculty and staff. One such new addition is Ma’am Maria Rossana Lim Gan, better known as Ma’am Bobsey among her class.

After weeks of keeping in touch in spite of a hectic schedule, we have finally reached the conclusion of this long-awaited interview feature. Here’s what you need to know about AISAT’s new instructor for Cabin Crew, a subject exclusive to first-year Aviation Management (AVM) students, based on a two-part series of messages!

General Information

“Provided excellent training in safety and service procedures to my students at AISAT.”

Ma’am Gan has described herself as an “innovative and passionate critical thinker who has guided junior crew members to be their best.” She works on her interpersonal skills and coordinating with others as a directress and trainor, from organizing outreach activities to taking inspiration from the youth in her vivacious approach to life.

Additionally, she has grit, is rather detail-oriented, and regards Christian tenets as having significantly influenced her journey.

Work Experience and Education

The second half details her affiliations and educational background. Her service as part of the cabin crew in Cathay Pacific for 16 years is particularly of note. Apart from that, she has worked in Rivetstays as a SEO copywriter, taking on the digital world through blogs and content creation.

As for education, she has attained the following merits and certificates: * Bachelor of Child Development in Education, Miriam College Foundation – Katipunan, Quezon City, Manila (Graduated on April 1990) * Masters of Education in Institutional Leadership, University of Southeastern Philippines – Bo. Obrero, Davao City (June 2012-2019) * Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Philippines): * National Certificate in Domestic Work (September 11, 2019 — September 10, 2024) * Trainors Methodology Certificate 1 (December 13, 2019 — December 12, 2024)

A Word from the Interviewer…

I took the request knowing that I was the closest link to this particular case, and the only limitation I would like to add is the usual scheduling conflict with one of my own classes, while Cabin Crew would start about an hour earlier. While I myself have never known much about the specifics from my AVM peers, despite having shared and collaborated in several subjects with one section and made a few friends along the way, I can see why they have enjoyed Ma’am Gan’s company. We didn’t first meet in the cabin crew laboratory, though—I was referred to another room alongside the AVM crew as she was about to start a class, offering her email at the end should I start this interview.

With what we have known about Ma’am Gan in mind, I hope the first-year AVM students are in good company with her around. This may have come from someone who is totally out of bounds in a school primarily focused on the aviation industry, but I’ll be looking forward to her progress all the same!
